Figures from the source: Lake Annecy tourist office: cycle loop round the lake. Times are walking times without breaks; they vary with fitness, terrain and season.

The route

The full loop is about 40 km. On the west shore, the voie verte (greenway) follows the old railway line, away from cars, from Sevrier to the Bout du Lac; on the east shore, a cycle route takes you back to Annecy via Talloires, Menthon and Veyrier.

The tourist office advises riding clockwise and setting off in the morning. Between Menthon and Talloires, about 3 km are on the road: take care.

What you see on the way

    Directions

Good to know

  • Roadworks in 2026: the RD 909 A road and the greenway at Talloires are closed from 14 September to 18 December 2026; plan another route on the east shore.

Before you set off

Check the weather and the lake webcams, and the state of the trail with the official source: a route can be closed (works, rockfall, snow) without this page knowing.
