Figures from the source: Lake Annecy tourist office: La Tournette from the Col de l’Aulp. Times are walking times without breaks; they vary with fitness, terrain and season.
The route
From Montmin, the route crosses the mountain pastures, passes the Col de l’Aulp and climbs to the summit rock of the Tournette, known as the “fauteuil” (armchair): the last part of the ascent is equipped with handrails and ladders. From the top, the whole of Lake Annecy comes into view, with Mont Blanc opposite.
This is a real mountain outing: there is no water on the way, and you must turn back in fog or while patches of old snow remain (usually until the end of June).
