The route

The loop climbs the side of the Épine and follows a balcony path where each viewpoint opens a new view of the lake. On the way, you pass old kilns once used to make charcoal.

A steep, exposed rocky section is fitted with handrails: you need to be sure-footed. The path crosses the nature reserve, where chamois are sometimes seen.
