The route
Above Thonon, the hill of Allinges carries the ruins of two medieval castles. The waymarked loop climbs to them from the village (high point 531 m) and opens a wide view over Lake Geneva, the Swiss shore and the Prealps.
It can be walked in any season; parking is free, but the trail is not suitable for pushchairs.
