Ski resort opening dates: the 2026-27 calendar

The opening and closing dates announced by each ski resort in Savoie and Haute-Savoie for winter 2026-27, collected from official websites. Filter by valley; each row links to the resort page and its source.

An announced date is not a guarantee: opening depends on snow cover and the operator, and can be brought forward or delayed. The “According to the announced dates” column is worked out from those dates and today’s date; it does not tell you whether the lifts are running. For today’s status, follow the “Lift status” link to the official source.

Dates collected on 29 September 2026 from the official websites of the resorts and their operators; “provisional” marks a date announced by a tourist office or an aggregator, not yet by the resort itself.

Questions about opening dates

Which resort opens first in 2026-27?

According to the announced dates, Val Thorens, Orelle and Tignes open first, on 21 November 2026. The date still depends on snow cover.

How late can you ski in spring 2027?

The latest announced closings are Val Thorens, Orelle, Val d’Isère and Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, on 2 May 2027.

Is an announced opening date guaranteed?

No. It depends on snow cover and the operator’s decision; a resort may open earlier, later or only partly. Check the lift status on the resort’s official page before you go.

What does “provisional” mean?

The date was announced by a tourist office or an aggregator website, but not yet by the resort or its operator when the data was collected.
