Les 3 Vallées ski resorts: weather, snow and webcams

Les 3 Vallées form a linked ski area in Savoie. This page brings together the six resorts AlpeSnow follows, with for each the weather in the village and at the summit, the snow forecast, its webcams where they exist and its announced opening date.

In short. Our catalogue puts the Les 3 Vallées ski area at 600 km of slopes. AlpeSnow follows six of its resorts, from the village of Orelle (890 m) to Val Thorens (2,300 m); their openings are announced between 21 November 2026 and 12 December 2026. Each resort page gives the forecast for the village and the summit, the same as on the site map.

Between the village of Orelle (890 m) and the Pointe du Bouchet (3,230 m), the top point of the six resorts, the difference exceeds 2,300 m: the weather is not the same at the bottom and at the top. Each resort page gives the forecast at both altitudes. Val Thorens, Courchevel and Méribel each give 150 km of slopes for their own sector, within the 600 km of the linked ski area.

Snow: where does it snow in Les 3 Vallées?

Five of the six resorts (Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Courchevel and Méribel) are in the Vanoise massif of the Météo-France bulletins, Orelle in the Maurienne one. The forecast-by-massif page gives the expected snowfall at 1,500, 2,000 and 2,500 m over 24 to 72 hours, recalculated every hour: it is a model estimate, not the snow on the ground.

Getting there from Albertville

Five resorts are reached by the RN90 to Moûtiers; Orelle, in the Maurienne, by another road. The journey times on this page are calculated without traffic: on a winter Saturday the RN90 is often much slower. The nearest railway station for five of them is Moûtiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains.

Open slopes and lifts: the official sources

Neither a webcam nor a forecast tells you which slopes and lifts are open. Each resort publishes its live status; the links are in the sources of this page. The season dates above are the ones announced by the resorts, not a confirmation that they will open.

Your questions

Before you go

Which resorts are part of Les 3 Vallées?

In the AlpeSnow catalogue: Val Thorens, Courchevel, Les Menuires, Méribel, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Orelle. This is the list of resorts the site follows, not the official list of the ski area: for that, check the operator’s website.

How many kilometres of slopes are there in Les 3 Vallées?

Our catalogue uses 600 km for the linked ski area, from the resorts’ official websites. Val Thorens, Courchevel and Méribel each give 150 km for their own sector.

When do the Les 3 Vallées resorts open?

Announced openings run from 21 November 2026 (Orelle and Val Thorens) to 12 December 2026. These are announced dates, not a confirmation: check the state of the slopes on the resort’s website before you set off.

Which Les 3 Vallées resort is the highest?

In our catalogue, Val Thorens has the highest village (2,300 m) and Orelle the highest lift of the six resorts (Pointe du Bouchet, 3,230 m).

Where can I see Les 3 Vallées webcams?

Les Menuires, Méribel and Courchevel have their own webcam page; Val Thorens, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and Orelle show their views on their resort page. The images are refreshed by their operators: they are not live streams.

Can these pages tell me whether the slopes are open?

No. Snow visible on a webcam or forecast by a model confirms neither that the slopes nor that the lifts are open: only each resort’s official report says so, with its date.

Sources and method

This date says nothing about how recent the images or data are: the webcams are supplied by the credited operators and their timestamp shows when the image was taken; model forecasts and official reports are separate pieces of information, each with its own time.
