The three Bessans webcams in Haute-Maurienne, from the village up to the Saignière panorama, with the 7-day forecast for the village and the latest snow depth measured on site by Météo-France.
In short. Bessans publishes three webcams on its tourist office website: the Saignière panorama (2,000 m), La Bessannaise (1,740 m) and Le Carreley (1,730 m). This page shows them whenever they are sending images, together with the Open-Meteo forecast for the village (1,750 m) and the snow depth measured at the Bessans Météo-France post. They are periodic images, not a video stream.

Understanding the conditions
Which Bessans webcam should I check?
The Saignière panorama, at 2,000 m, is the highest view: it shows whether the top of the small alpine area is clear. La Bessannaise (1,740 m) and Le Carreley (1,730 m) are at village level, on the floor of the Arc valley: they tell you about the snow on the ground and any fog down below. Comparing the two levels shows whether a sea of cloud is sitting on the village.
Bessans, a cross-country skiing village
According to the tourist office, Bessans has 133 km of cross-country trails at 1,750 m and a 3 km alpine area (2 blue runs and 1 green), from 1,740 m to 2,000 m, served by 2 lifts. The alpine season is announced from 19 December 2026 to 28 March 2027.
Bessans lies on the Haute-Maurienne road that climbs to Bonneval-sur-Arc and then to the Col de l’Iseran, closed in winter. Check its status with official road sources, not on webcam images.
The webcams show the sky and visibility when the image was taken. The 7-day forecast is an Open-Meteo model estimate for the village (1,750 m), recalculated every hour. The snow depth is a manual Météo-France reading on site, taken during the season: out of season, the page shows the latest measurement with its date. None of these tells you whether a slope or lift is open; the official report does.
On 3 October 2026, the Météo-France post “Bessans” (1,713 m) measured 0 cm of snow on the ground and 0 cm of fresh snow. It is a measurement at the post’s altitude, not on every slope.
Are the Bessans webcams live?
No: they are images refreshed regularly by their operator, not a continuous video stream. The capture time is shown on the image or at the source; a view with no image for more than 24 hours is not shown here.
How high is Bessans?
The cross-country area is at 1,750 m and the alpine area runs from 1,740 m to 2,000 m, the altitude of the Saignière panorama webcam (tourist office).
Is there downhill skiing in Bessans?
Yes, on a small area: 3 km of runs and 2 lifts according to the tourist office, open from 19 December 2026 to 28 March 2027. Bessans is best known for its 133 km of cross-country skiing.
Can a webcam tell me whether the Bessans slopes are open?
No. Snow on an image confirms neither that the slopes nor that the lifts are open: only the resort’s official report says so, with its date.
What is the weather forecast for Bessans?
The 7-day forecast at the top of the page is the Open-Meteo model forecast for the village (1,750 m), recalculated every hour. It is an estimate, not an on-site measurement.
Sources and method
Text of this page last revised on . This date says nothing about how recent the images or data are: the webcams are supplied by the credited operators and their timestamp shows when the image was taken; model forecasts and official reports are separate pieces of information, each with its own time. The forecast applies to the point and altitude shown in the weather block.

Daily manual reading at the “Bessans” post (Météo-France snow-observation network, Licence Ouverte). The value is measured at the post’s altitude, not on every slope; the depth “at the top” is not available. Open slopes and lifts: not available here, see the ski area’s report.
