Weather-model estimates at the stated altitude of each point, not measurements. Forecast snowfall is not the depth of snow on the ground. Source: Open-Meteo, updated every hour.
The resort’s webcams, from the La Blache base area up to the slopes, with the 7-day forecast for the bottom and top of the ski area and the latest snow depth measured on site by Météo-France. The resort is in the commune of La Morte, 45 minutes from Grenoble.
In short. Alpe du Grand Serre publishes three webcams on its tourist office website: La Blache (1,367 m), Les Bergeries – La Flambée (1,748 m) and Les Cochettes (1,660 m). This page shows them whenever they are sending images, together with the Open-Meteo forecast for the base area and the top of the Pérollier drag lift (2,184 m), and the snow depth measured at the resort’s Météo-France post (1,382 m). They are periodic images, not a video stream.

Understanding the conditions
Which Alpe du Grand Serre webcam should I check?
The La Blache webcam is at the base of the slopes (1,367 m), next to the La Blache chairlift: it shows the village and the beginners’ area. Les Bergeries – La Flambée looks over the ski area at 1,748 m, and Les Cochettes at 1,660 m. Comparing La Blache with Les Bergeries tells you whether fog is sitting at the bottom while the top is clear. A view that has not sent an image for more than 24 hours is not shown: on 9 October 2026 the tourist office listed the Les Cochettes webcam as under maintenance.
La Morte or Alpe du Grand Serre: the same webcams
The resort lies in the commune of La Morte, reached from the Romanche valley via Séchilienne, so “La Morte webcam” and “Alpe du Grand Serre webcam” refer to the same cameras. The name is often written “Alpes du Grand Serre”; the official name is L’Alpe du Grand Serre.
Webcam, forecast and measured snow: three different things
The webcams show the sky and visibility when the image was taken. The 7-day forecast is an Open-Meteo model estimate at 1,367 m and 2,184 m, recalculated every hour. The snow depth is a manual Météo-France reading at 1,382 m, taken during the season: out of season, the page shows the latest measurement with its date. None of these tells you whether a slope or lift is open; the tourist office’s snow report does.
According to the tourist office, the alpine ski area has more than 55 km of runs: 3 green, 15 blue, 11 red and 2 black, served by 14 lifts (3 chairlifts and 11 drag lifts) over a 817 m vertical drop. There are 16 km of cross-country trails. The season is announced from 19 December 2026 to 7 March 2027.
Getting to Alpe du Grand Serre
From Grenoble, the tourist office says to turn right towards “Séchilienne – Alpe du Grand Serre” 4 km after the Vizille toll. In winter, the Transaltitude coach runs directly between Grenoble and the resort; the nearest railway stations are Grenoble and Jarrie-Vizille. Before setting off, road conditions in Isère are published by the Département on Itinisère.
On 11 February 2026, the Météo-France post “L’Alpe du Grand Serre” (1,382 m) measured 50 cm of snow on the ground and 0 cm of fresh snow. This observation is old: it does not describe the current snow conditions. It is a measurement at the post’s altitude, not on every slope.
Are the Alpe du Grand Serre webcams live?
No: they are images refreshed regularly by the resort (hosted by Trinum / webcam-hd.com), not a continuous video stream. The capture time is shown on the image or at the source; a view with no image for more than 24 hours is not shown here.
Is there a webcam in La Morte?
The Alpe du Grand Serre webcams are the ones in La Morte: the resort is in that commune. This page brings them together with the local forecast.
How high is Alpe du Grand Serre?
The base area, at La Blache, is at 1,367 m; the highest point, at the top of the Pérollier drag lift, is at 2,184 m, a vertical drop of 817 m (tourist office).
When does Alpe du Grand Serre open?
The tourist office announces the season from 19 December 2026 to 7 March 2027 (checked on 9 October 2026). An announced date is not a guarantee: snow cover and the operator decide, so check the official report before you go.
Can a webcam tell me whether the slopes are open?
No. Snow on an image confirms neither that the slopes nor that the lifts are open. The tourist office’s snow and slopes report gives the current status.
What is the weather forecast for Alpe du Grand Serre?
The 7-day forecast at the top of the page is the Open-Meteo model forecast for the base area (1,367 m) and the top of the ski area (2,184 m). It is an estimate, not an on-site measurement.
Sources and method
Text of this page last revised on . This date says nothing about how recent the images or data are: the webcams are supplied by the credited operators and their timestamp shows when the image was taken; model forecasts and official reports are separate pieces of information, each with its own time. The forecast applies to the point and altitude shown in the weather block.
